Vice President, C4ISR Networked Systems Electronic Systems Northrop Grumman Corporation
Bill Irby, a 14-year veteran of the corporation, serves as the Vice President, C4ISR Networked Systems (CNS) with overall responsibility for the growth and execution of the sector’s ISR ground system business. The CNS business serves multiple defense and intelligence community customers, developing and delivering systems such as the Distributed Common Ground Station (DCGS) family of systems, the Army TES, USMC TEG, USAF Sensor Identity Management and Routing Service (SIMRS), the Common Imagery Processor (CIP), and Extended Tether Program (ETP), as well as a number of new NGA systems. Previously, Mr. Irby served as Director, Tactical Communication Systems business area, with a broad range of products and programs across multiple ES campuses. Prior to this assignment, he held positions including Site Manager, SATCOM Systems, and Program Manager for Baltimore based Integrated Communications Systems. Prior to joining Communication Systems, he led multiple programs and initiatives in Northrop Grumman’s ISR business area including CIP, ETRAC, ETP and Tier III- Ground Integration. Mr. Irby joined the corporation as a mechanical engineer in 1994 after serving two tours as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Irby graduated with a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1989, and attained a master's degree in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University in May 2000. He completed the Harvard Business School’s General Manager Program in November 2004. He has served as a member of the Johns Hopkins University Advisory Council for Graduate Programs in Engineering and Applied Science since 2004. Mr. Irby has been married to the former Karen Seglem since 1990, and they have three children. |
